DAy 2:  techniques and progress

7/6/2015

We looked at many different stop motion techniques,
  • which one(s) do you want to try out in your short film? Why?
  • Do you think this will be difficult or easy to accomplish?

What stage are you at in the process? (Planning, storyboard, characters)

We are going to try out the explosion, greenscreen, and flying techniques. I feel as though doing the explosion and greenscreen will not be difficult, but not easy, and for the flying, we may have difficulties disguising the fishing line, but we should be fine.

That is so ambitious! But I think if anyone can make it happen your group can do it! We will have to take a look at the green screen app and the stop motion app and see how they play together.

The explosion sounds neat to try out since it might fit with the story's plot. It may b in between easy and difficult.

We are using the green screen, explosion, and flying actions with our film. (can't wait to start filming it too!!!)

I think the fire seems really cool and fits in with our story, so we will probably use it. It seems a lot easier than some of the other techniques.

I liked the fire technique, it will add a little something extra to any film.

I am working with clay and have a great idea about it. I'm making Cookie Monster, and I am trying to figure out the texture, hopefully I can figure it out.

I will use the clay and the stop motion drawings on a sheet of loose leaf paper because using two items will be more interesting. I also think we will use the explosion effect to make it more exciting.

Some techniques that Cale and I will be using are explosions and animating flying/falling. Also there will be a big fight so it will be somewhat difficult to make the bullets fly through the air. I think it will be cool to have legos in the video.

We want to try the different angels of how to use the camera, to make the film more interesting.

I want to try out the explosions and fire techniques because our movie is going to be two people with fire abilities fighting each other. When the fire hits each other, there is gonna be some kind of explosion. The characters hair is gonna be made out of clay and their fire is going to be made out of foam. I think this will be pretty easy because the fire we are making is very simplistic with stuff that isn't that hard to draw such as fire shields and daggers and just plain fireballs.

I would want to try out things moving all over, trees moving the sky moving making thing look like a real place but candy, having different angles. Some parts can be really hard but we can make them work.

I want to try animating fire and explosions with clay props and hair (yes, the character's hair is going to be clay, but not their bodies). I think it will be relatively easy to accomplish compared to, let's say, making things fly. Not completely and utterly easy though. Only some things in the animation world are easy to do.

We would like to try out the different angles of the camera. I think we should use different camera angles so it is not in the same place. I think this will be easy to accomplish.

I'm going to use clay and drawings on paper to make it different and more exciting. The explosion we are using will also add an interesting aspect to the film. I think this will not be too challenging, but it will be hard enough because of the different drawings and clay pieces.

For our film, we are going to try using greenscreen, claymation, and making things appear to be flying. We are also going to try explosion in a way. Fair warning to others, clay is hard to work with sometimes and can be messed up easily. Another thing is that the colors will mix if you are not careful. I wish you all the best of luck!
